After the floods in 2000, parts of the Monastery got highly affected and had to be renovated. That is where we intervened. The old car park, situated in the lower part, designed by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, was the place chosen to install the new shops of the Sanctuary, a space for the diffusion of the culture and nature of the mountain of Montserrat and also for the sale of products related to the spirituality of the place. The project is in a rectangular space of more than five meters high, with a unique structure of four crossings with Catalan turns in the longitudinal direction of the nave, hung, initially without pillars. The store is structured in a circuit that distributes the space according to the different sections of the products. The lighting provides a sense of seclusion and highlights the different sections.
