Detached family house

The fundamental idea of the housing emerges as a response to the urban and neighbourhood restrictions of this plot. It can only be built one floor of 75m2 surface and a maximum height of 3m above ground level. As a result of these limitations, the project arises: a semi-buried house that grows below ground level.

The house opens towards the south orientation while closing and protecting from the views of the neighbours in the opposite direction. It values outdoor spaces and vegetation as a way to connect with nature even though being located in the city.

The program is developed on three floors: the access, the common spaces of living room, dining room, kitchen, and a study area are located above ground level, all facing the garden. On floor -1 are the three bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of them en suite with a dressing room. Floor -1 also contains the laundry room. The bedrooms have access to a patio, which, being below ground level, offers special privacy. Finally, on floor -2 there is a multipurpose room that can be used as a cinema, workshop, gym… according to the needs of the inhabitants.
