Preliminary design of Room 4 of L’Auditori

After several interventions inside L’Auditori over the years, the management of the centre asked us to build some rehearsal rooms in a marginal space of the building. We chose the spare space under the emergency exit ramp of the ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya), where we spotted the possibility of building a room for small concerts. The preliminary project is respectful with the existing building and proposes a diaphanous, polyvalent and luminous interior space. Finally the project was developed by the architects Rafael Moneo and Lucho Marcial.
