The building, located in the technological district 22@, then newly created in the Poble Nou district of Barcelona, is a great container of activities. It was designed for companies and professionals from the most creative fields (such as architects, designers…), and was thought to offer shared spaces and services to enhance their activities. A double façade made of green stretched sheet metal represents ivy and embraces the building making it stand out in a temporarily grey and still unstructured environment.
The project is executed in two phases: the main phase, at the beginning, where is built the two basement floors, first floor, second floor and a taller body of up to four floors. Years later, a second phase is built. A two-story lift above the first floor, which also provides the building with a large terrace accessible to users. This gesture highlights the value of outdoor spaces in an office world that is rapidly evolving towards alternative work concepts that ensure the well-being of workers, versatility and comfort.
